To celebrate this first weeks of the month after Easter TodiCastle  is describing a city with an important history where the famous Saint Francis lived for some time.

Assisi: This charming and tranquil town in the province of Perugia is best known as the birthplace of St. Francis, patron saint of animals and ecology. Assisi attracts large numbers of tourists and pilgrims each year who visit its beautiful Basilica di San Francesco, the Basilica of Santa Chiara, Duomo and Temple of Minerva. Although a busy tourist destination, visitors can always find a quiet spot from which to sit and watch the world go by, while enjoying a gelato of coffee. Many visitors don’t even realize that one of Assisi’s major archaeological sites is the Roman Forum beneath their feet. This ancient wonder can be accessed from the Piazza del Comune.

As written above we hope to have inspired you to travel to this wonderful town and visit the amazing cathedral of Saint Francis.
